ABOUT DR. BIANCA ACEVEDO
Bianca Acevedo conducts research at Northwell Health in NYC and is a research scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), private consultant, and an author. She has a B.A. in Psychology from New York University (NYU) and a PhD in Social/Health Psychology from Stony Brook University. She has taught numerous courses including Social Neuroscience (NYU), Close Relationships, Research Methods, Human Anatomy, and Positive Psychology (UCSB). Bianca was the recipient of the 2012 International Women in Science Award. She has served as an Editor for the 2020 special issue of Frontiers in Psychology on “The Science of Pair-bonding,” 2022 special issue on “Innovations in Healthy Aging” for the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and currently for Frontiers’ special issue on high sensitivity research. Her first book, “The Highly Sensitive Brain,” discusses the science, assessment, and impact of high sensitivity, and was one of four finalists for the 2021 PROSE Award. Her upcoming book on the Science and Art of High Sensitivity will be released Summer, 2024.
